Second Level – Continue to enjoy advancing your skills in greenhouse management, production of commercial greenhouse crops, and landscape maintenance, as well as advanced floral design.
Third Level– Growing further in the skills greenhouse management, flower shop, and outdoors. Management skills, marketing and landscape drawing are also stressed.

Principles of Programming - 341140
Students will be introduced to the elementary concepts of computer programming. The focus of this course will be building applications in Visual Basic. This is a great course for anyone looking to try programming.
 
 
Programming & Computer Concepts - 341010
This course prepares students to write programming code using Java. Topics include programming languages, computer architecture, ethical and professional issues, and design of solutions to abstract problems. 
 
AP Computer Science - 343011
Students can earn college credit by learning the Java programming language and preparing for the AP Computer Science exam. (Prerequisite: Programming & Computer Concepts)
 
Website Development I & Website Development II - 344030 & 344031
In Web I, students will study all parts of web development including: designing a site, creating multimedia elements, testing, and posting to a Web server. Students will learn HTML, JavaScript, and CS3.In Web II, students will focus more on internet security, scripting languages, and database management. (Prerequisite: Must take Web I before Web II.)

Students will utilize word processing and spreadsheet applications for financial documents in Microsoft Office 2007. Students taking this can sit for the MOS Proficiency Word and Excel Certification Exam. 
 

 

Architectural Engineering Design
Level I 392500, Level II 392510   *1 credit
Advanced Tech Credit*
The level 1 and the advanced level courses meet the new Maryland Advanced Technology Requirement. 
Students will study architectural design principles and develop architectural hand-drawing skills, from individual room drawings to full home sketches. Level 1 receives an introduction of AutoCAD for automated drawings, while advanced levels use the program more extensively.
 
* Successful completion of two credits in Architectural Engineering Design meets the Maryland graduation requirement for Advanced Technology Education beginning in school year 2009-10.
 
Woodworking I 391020,  II – 392020, III –393020
This is a laboratory-based, “hands-on” course. Students will develop skills in safe and proper use of all types of woodworking tools. Level 1 students receive instructions on a number of required projects. Advanced level students design and build projects of their own desire. Project cost calculation; material and supply usage calculations and measuring mathematics ability are reinforced throughout all levels.

 

 

 

Business and Accounting

If you like to take the lead and run the show this course is for you. Students acquire skills through a general study of banking services, checking accounts, budgeting, credit, insurance, investments, communications, consumer economics, computers, and technology.
 
Accounting I 332040
This class is for students interested in a career in business, business in general, or obtaining a business degree. Students develop the ability to analyze and record business transactions. In this course, students complete the various steps in the accounting cycle. 
 
Accounting II 333041
The principles of accounting theory will be reinforced. More in-depth look at accounting. Great course if you are looking to go into accounting or business in college. Students are required to complete Accounting 1 prior to this class.
